7 for Sunday
A weekly serving of 7 things for you to savor
On Sundays I send an email containing my reflections on interesting things I find laying about, seasoned with some quotes from my collection. 5 minutes of reading, no hooks, no guest posts— View the latest issue.
Open + Curious
You talk with others every day, but how often do you intentionally practice the art of conversation? Open + Curious is about discovering what better means for your conversations.
There are countless traditions which describe the idea of speaking reality into being. Open + Curious is my perspective on how to do that. How can our thoughts shape our words and communication? And how can our communication shape our lives through our experience of conversation? — See more at Open + Curious.
Blog author
Blogging gives me the chance to regularly work with the garage door up; showing my work by exposing my thinking. Even if mostly no one calls me on anything, knowing that people are looking draws me to a higher quality of thinking.
My personal blog has a specific purpose: It’s a vehicle for my process of reflection. I write, there, because I am still learning… still trying to listen:
I used to think I wrote because there was something I wanted to say. Then I thought, “I will continue to write because I have not yet said what I wanted to say”; but I know now I continue to write because I have not yet heard what I have been listening to.

Podcaster Community
As an indie podcaster, you face countless questions. My goal is to help you with that. In the Podcaster Community — whether you’re just thinking about it, starting out, or are publishing your 100th episode — we’d love for you to join us.
Podtalk podcast
Podtalk is short conversations with podcast creators that are not just about podcasting, because I like to take the scenic route. Search for “podtalk” wherever you normally listen.
In each episode, I talk with indie podcasters about their shows, experiences, what they’ve learned, what motivates them, and… well, everything related to podcasting from the indie creator’s point of view. I hope these episodes spark ideas and conversations for you, and lead to new ways of looking at this wonderful art of podcasting.
Movers Mindset podcast
In the Movers Mindset podcast, I talk with movement enthusiasts to learn who they are, what they do, and why they do it. Search for “movers mindset” wherever you normally listen. There’s also a Movers Mindset tag over on my blog, but for all things Movers Mindset, head over to https://moversmindset.com/.
The Movers Mindset project grew from conversations I started having as part of my personal journey rediscovering movement. The project started late in 2015, and it was initially simply a web site that shared others’ writing. The project grew, and in 2017 I started a companion podcast. I’ve worked extremely hard, but none of this would have been possible without so much help from so many people.
Little Box of Quotes
A long long time ago I began collecting inspirational quotes and aphorisms. Today, there are over 1,000 quotes and the collection continues to grow.
I originally kept them on the first version of my web site in 1994, where they were displayed randomly. But as time went on, I realized I wanted them where I would see them. Eventually I copied the fledgling collection onto 3×5 cards and put them in a small box. As I find new ones, I add cards.
